Bernadette Nakabazzim PH.D.
Bernadette Nakabazzi is a lecturer in the department of Exercise and Sports Science, College of Natural Sciences, Makerere University Kampala. She holds a PhD in Exercise and Sports Science from Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya. Bernadette also earned her MSc. in Sport and Exercise Medicine from the University of Exeter, UK, and a BSc. Sports Science from Makerere University. She is an early career researcher with an interest in health behavior particularly physical activity and sedentary behavior across the lifespan. She focuses on topics that include objective measures of physical activity using wearable technology, built environment influence on physical activity, active urban design, active travel, school, workplace and community physical activity programs and sport and recreation for all. She is an active member of Member of the Uganda Society of Sports Science and Physical Education, the International Society for Physical Activity and Health and the International Society of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity.

Lillian Mugisha, M.SC.
Lillian Mugisha is a faculty member in the Department of Exercise and Sports Science at Makerere University. She is currently pursuing a PhD with a focus on movement behaviour of adolescent girls at Kenyatta University, where she also earned her Master’s degree in Sports and Exercise Science.

Her academic and research interests focus on the health and movement behaviour of adolescents, with a particular emphasis on promoting physical activity and well-being among girls. Lillian is an active member of both the Uganda Physical Activity Network and Uganda Aquatics, contributing to national efforts in advancing physical activity awareness and aquatic safety.
